APEX gaming is a privately- owned company, founded and continually managed by the owner and managing director, Mr. Johannes Weissengruber.The global headquarters of APEX gaming are in Austria – Hagenberg in the state of Upper Austria.The manufacturing base is in Budweis in the Czech Republic.

It was the clear intention of the founder and owner Mr. Weissengruber, where he was going to take the company. Back in 2003 Mr. Weissengruber chose the company name to reflect his strategy. The Oxford English Dictionary explains the meaning of the word ‘apex’ as peak, top or highest part. The strategy of Apex gaming is to offer the highest quality possible in every aspect, thus being a first-mover, offering the industry innovations that create real player value and thus increase revenue for operators. The company logo of the pyramid underlines this strategy – the top of the pyramid is gold – which is – of course – the apex.

A wealth of experience and know-how is required to fulfil such a powerful strategy. The willingness to understand the industry and what players really want is a prerequisite. Apex fulfils this. It was back in 1994 that Mr. Weissengruber first entered into the gaming industry. Living in Austria very close to the Czech border, the geographical positioning was also ideal. This was to be the beginning of the fascination for the gaming industry that Mr. Weissengruber exudes. When the opportunity arose to take a 100% stake in this operating company called ‘Play and Win’ a year later, he did not waiver. It is his true fascination of how the industry works and – more importantly – how players accept and play on slots machines – that are the roots of Apex’s success.

Alongside the headquarters in Austria and the manufacturing base in the Czech Republic, APEX gaming runs wholly-owned subsidiaries in Albania, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Macedonia, Mexico, Serbia and Spain.

In addition to this, APEX gaming is present in many more countries, working together with local partners.
