The IMP is a basic biomedical research institute with scientists who are passionately committed to scientific discovery, seeking to unlock some of life’s fundamental mysteries. Largely sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim and through research grants from various national and international funding agencies.

Unsere Aufgabe
The Research Institute of Molecular Pathology (IMP) is a leading research institute committed to pushing the frontiers of biomedical science. Since its foundation in 1988, the IMP has created a legacy of research excellence and academic eminence. The IMP is largely sponsored by the pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim, yet is fully independent in its governance and research programs. The IMP provides its scientists with the resources and freedom they need to follow their own scientific instincts and ideas.The IMP is part of the Vienna BioCenter, a thriving life science cluster for research, education and business with over 1,700 staff members from 70 countries.
