„THE FRIDGE“ MAYRHOFEN, NEW IN THE ZILLERTAL

The Fridge: From the end of December 2012 the first igloo party & event arena of its kind in a valley is going to let Mayrhofen im Zillertal shine. Until mid-April 2013 the high-end igloo will certainly redefine winter lifestyle with international DJ acts, marvelous ice art, the slightly different Après Ski and a lot of event action including fine-dining.
Art in the refrigerator

For the event location of the icy kind, more than 5000 cubic meters of snow will be formed and brought into shape at 600 meters above sea level. Right outside the hotel Schrofenblick, between the Horberg and Mayrhofen, the 200m2 snow covered area is divided into two main igloos with 8m diameters and an igloo with a 5m diameter. Inside the snow-palace there is enough space for 400 people to party, dance and chill out. The elaborate snow art carved out from the perfectly shaped igloo walls, as well as the creative lighting, give the somewhat different refrigerator a special ambience. Outside the igloos a snow bar with sun-loungers and a chill-out area invite guests to relax or join the après ski.
After skiing is before partying

From the end of December Après Ski, starting at 2 o’clock p.m., it is on in the party igloo: Until 7 o’clock p.m. DJ's, live acts, and in the early spring sunshine, even Snow BBQs are going to warm up all skiers and snowboarders from mid-February 2013 on. Depending on the program, the sound will vary from Après Ski anthems to live music to lounge classics.

Party till the Igloo shakes: Afterwards Resident DJ's, live performers and even internationally renowned acts, in cooperation with the CLOUD9 Innsbruck, will do us the honor at the turntables. Once a week the widely known Wax Wreckaz will be in on the action as well. For the times in between the major events in the Zillertal, such as the Snowbombing, the Igloo crew will come up with a special program.

Ice crystals meet snow sorbet

In addition to lots of music, fine dining is well established in The Fridge. The inventor of snow sorbets, Global Master Chief Martin Mairhofer and his Cookart visionaries, present amongst others the Cookart Social World cooking show. Moreover, tastings of fine wines and spirits as well as a tour to the exciting world of molecular gastronomy are on the agenda.
