RED NOSES Clowndoctors International (RNI) is the umbrella organization of one of the largest clown doctor groups in the world.

Geschichte

No matter what age or for what reason, life can sometimes bring us face to face with feels of dreariness and loneliness, evoking moments of hopelessness, anxiety and fear. This might be the scenario for a small child in hospital about to undergo major surgery or a disabled teenager fighting to stay strong after a car crash and being told they may never to walk again.

But when a smile or a bit of music is shared, when colors emerge and feelings of happiness seep into the room, then you can actually feel something positive taking place..... our clown doctors are on the move.

They live right in the moment, caring passionately for all those who need love and a bit of uplifting. They improvise as they move from bedside to bedside, connecting with those who are ready to reach out. They spread the spirit of joy in the most remote places on earth and in the clinic down the road. Yes, the powers of humor and laughter can indeed enhance the healing process and help the human body to cope with stressful situations.

RED NOSES Clowndoctors International (RNI) is the umbrella organization of one of the largest clown doctor groups in the world. Operating in over 400 hospitals and social welfare institutions our local partner organizations are presently engaged in ten countries: Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Palestine, Poland, Slovakia and Slovenia.

We take great pride in our achievements of supporting the well-being of thousands of people within the global community.

Unsere Aufgabe

RED NOSES bring humour and laughter to people in need of joy.

Responding to the urgent need for psychological assistance of seriously ill children in hospitals, old people in hospices, victims of accidents in rehabilitation clinics, mentally or physically handicapped people and, last but not least, refugees in camps and host communities we try to bring relief and psychosocial support with the help of humour and laughter- and actually we really do.

We started the first hospital clown project in Europe and therefore have gone a long way to professionalize the work and enlarge the group of patients and other groups in crisis and despair whom we can offer very specifically developed programs to ease their pains and bring moments of happiness and relief.

From our headquarters in Vienna we operate presently in eleven countries on a continuous basis and reach out to many more regions, answering requests from Médecins sans Frontières, the various UN Refugee Organizations, Save The Children and the International Red Cross / Red Crescent.
