A Shocking Experience.
After searching for a Rolex serviceable reputable retailer, I found this shop in the centre of Klagenfurt. I wanted to buy a Tudor Black Bay, and to have my Tudor Pelagos serviced aswell.
Now, if this is a certified Rolex centre, Rolex certainly needs to rethink or at least investigate where their products are sold, although in my experience Rolex centres are, or have been a pleasing, helpful and reliable experience throughout the world, until now.
My shocking experience started at the door, where I pressed a button as usual to be allowed in, and I wasn't.
Now after waiting for a few moments which seemed like minutes and wondering why I wasn't allowed in, I was ungentlemanly approached from behind by a very large security "gentleman", who asked me "what I wanted" !! Very unpolite.
Of course I said I would like to go in, then he pushed past me, opened the door and said, "then go in"!
Now after feeling threatened and insulted I was finally allowed inside the very small shop, but I noticed I was followed in by the security guard, where he stood and remained the entire time.
Now, can I just say that I'm a well dressed man, or at least I think I am, and I do not have the appearance of someone who is actually going to cause a threat to the shop!
I was approached by a smart middle aged lady with a smile and she politely asked me how she could help.
Now, I wasn't asked to sit, I had had a very long walk beforehand, and then the door scenario scene, only to be told they don't have any Tudor watches, but some will be arriving in the next few days. In fact the only watches to be seen were a handful of Rolex's at the front window, and may I add, at very good prices.
Of course I addressed my uncomfortable situation which happened at the door, then left the shop feeling very unhappy and nervous.
This was the 24th January, and since then I have visited many dedicated watch retailers, in Klagenfurt and in Vienna, where the customer service has been faultless and to perfection.
Hence I didn't by a Tudor Black Bay in the end, I bought an Omega Planet Ocean.
I apologise for any distress, but my experience in this retailer was totally unacceptable.
Thank you.
