Self Catering Eco Lodge Chalets in the heart of Austria's Alps

Whether you’re a big family or a small group of friends, our luxury chalets and apartments offer the perfect alpine holiday retreat. Only an hour’s drive from Salzburg, our region, Lungau, is nestled beneath some of the highest peaks in Austria, which makes our luxury, wooden, self-catering eco chalets ideal for both summer and winter breaks alike. We've built ten stunning chalets (with a little help from our friends), using locally sourced, untreated timber, triple glazing and 100% pure sheep's wool insulation. We have one big chalet (that sleeps up to 14 people) and nine others that sleep between 6 and 10, as well as two 4-bed apartments. The resort is entirely self-sufficient – supplied by natural spring water and heated and powered by our own state-of-the-art vegetable oil power plant (don’t worry, you can’t hear it!). All our guests have access to our central facilities, which include sauna, gym, recreation/cinema room and pampering area.

It's a big claim and we couldn't possibly prove it, but you definitely won't be paying extortionate rates if you come here and we've done everything we can to make our chalets extremely comfortable and luxurious. Everyone tells us that our photographs don't do them justice.

What's more, the chalets come with free access to our shared sauna, gym and TV/recreation centre, which you'll find only a few steps away in our central buildings.

In the summer the sun deck and natural pond is ideal for a quick dip and some sunbathing (people are often surprised by how warm our summers are!!), or you can make the most of the facilities in your chalet, most of which come equipped with DVDs, games and the latest consoles.

We are only a 5-minute walk from the main ski lift and about ten minutes from St Michael, which is the nearest town with restaurants, bars, banks and all kind of shops. St Michael is a real gem of 'hidden Austria' and is one of

Austria's most reliable areas for snow in winter and for sun in summer! Our ski slopes, golf courses and endless summer hiking and biking trails are mostly quiet and uncrowded, while the whole Lungau region is bursting with natural beauty and Austrian charm.

For skiers, hikers and cyclists of all abilities St Martin Chalets offers the perfect base for both group and family holidays in Austria. The ‘Lungo’ ski pass covers more than 250km of pistes, including the very lively resort of Obertauern, which is renowned for the reliability of its snow conditions. Obertauern is only a short ski and/or free bus ride away, as are all five of our ski areas, each of which offers something different - from wide, open pistes to gentle beginner slopes, to narrow tree-lined runs filled with bumps and jumps. It’s a great place to learn and is ideal for exploring acres of unspoilt slopes – both off-piste and on, which is one reason why many of our guests return to stay with us year after year.
